For ASIA NOW 2023, MadeIn Gallery is pleased to present “The Earth Trembles”, featuring a selection of paintings, installation, and sculpture by artists Ding Li, Lu Pingyuan, Mo Shaolong, Pu Yingwei, Shang Liang, Wang Jianwei, XU ZHEN®, Yang Yang, and Zhou Zixi at Booth S03, Salon d’Honneur Guillaume Dupré of Monnaie de Paris.

Seeing Nature as an actor in, rather than a backdrop to, social development, “The Earth Trembles” is a study of the geopolitical challenges the world faces, investigating the causes and manifestations of underlying clashes between democracy and autocracy, as well as their relationship to the climate crisis. More specifically, this project is conceived out of the ascent of political conservatism spanning the pre- and post- pandemic era, taking into account not only climate emergency or political wrangling, but a multifaceted struggle for the future of the earth and the destiny of human beings. Art must stand up as a new visibility, a new politics of sensibility, in the current age of the Anthropocene.
