Went to JIUFENG Mount to get an idea of the place and to paint from nature. Found a knoll round and plump, lush and green. Sat down in front of the mountain and got to work painting on the canvas. Took the glasses off to catch the colors and the sense of something so immense, and started painting, with eyes blurred. The mountain daubed in a patch of green, the skies in blue-grey. When the painting was done, a few points on the canvas slowly started bulging out; nine were counted. Putting the glasses back on and carefully observing the mountain once more, those nine spots so happened to have nine burial mounds standing.
